Polyurethane is a sintetic rubber with superior performance. Day by day the use of elastomeric polyurethane encreases as substitute of traditional rubber and in new applications, solving problems of abrasion, chemical resistance and mechanicals.

Processing

Reaction by a polyol and an isocyanate produces a phisical changement by the status from liquid to solid and elastic material. Through the change of raw materials and combination between them, with suitable ratio, it is possible to obtain a wide range of characteristics that qualify to many different applications. Looking at so many ISO and POLIOLS now avalaible, additives, fillers and plasticizers, possible formulations are practically unlimited and giving to polyurethanes wide variation of properties. Some are abrasion resistant, others resist to acid as some have good resistance to hydrolisis. There are PU having high resilience as some others have none. This elastomer resist very well to Hidrocarbons and mineral/vegetal oil. PU resists to abrasion infinitely better than any metal plastic or rubber. Outstanding good compression set of PU is, combined with shape memory, that is another good property of this material, suggest it for number of applications. Experience and research allow FUTURA to have best formulation for each different application. Applications

PU can be used to solve problems in any industrial plant, rollers, wheels, joints, springs etc are only some of possible applications. We can resume the main applications as listed below:

• Screen clothes for processing all minerals. Screen decks have longer life 20 times to steel.
• Pipes, chutes and hoppers. Reduce noise, longer life, easy to install.
• Pump impellers and pump linings. Cheaper than rubber, longer life time, (+5 times to rubber).
• Roller covering. Wide range of hardeness avalaible for any application.
• Wheels. We can restore a new material in your old wheel support, is cheap and better than new!!! We can also produce wheels under your drawing.
• Washing machines, used to wash minerals are submitted to a tremendous abrasion action. Polyurethane solve this problem giving long life as lined in the machine, easy to install and cheap.
• Flotation impellers, hidrocyclons and dewaterings are applications where polyurethane can give big results

• Rollers giving best performances are made by PU. Special low hardeness (from 30 Shore “A” ) and quality are avalaible for all applications.

• Some of our polyurethanes are FDA approved for application in contact of food. It can replace stainless steel with improved abrasion resistance, noise reduction and soft contact with product handled.
• No marking wheels for fork lifts and any other application can be done with PU, in any color, including WHITE.
• Feeding suckers and others mechanical parts can be well replaced in PU
• Parts under drawing can be done in short time.

• Moulds working under pression can be made with Polyurethane. Isostatic process mouldings, spinning, inside-out redrawing etc.
